Fabric Doll House

During one of my internet surfing sessions I came across this fabric doll house tutorial by "UK lass in US". Of course I can never do something exactly as someone else ... so here I have used an industrial felt (not sure exactly what you call it, but this is what it feels like) for the internal stiffener (the same that I use for my zippered handbags). This little house was given to Isla Rose who did seem to really appreciate it! (Thanks Isla's mum & dad for the lend of your trailer!).

The last photo is of Lilly modeling the doll house before we gave it to Isla.

  1. Hi,
I am about to have a go at one of these houses having found UK lass's template. I just wondered if you could tell me what type of fabric you used for yours? It looks wonderfully hard wearing but still soft?
    Many thanks

  2. Hi Alison, I just use any fabric I have around. A lot of my fabrics are donations from people who know I sew, or from second hand stores - so I never know exactly what the content is. Most of these particular fabrics are cottons. The green is like a linen, and the floral 'wall' fabric is quite light weight, and probably a poly blend. The striped roof was like a cotton drill. I use whatever is on hand! Hope your house bag turns out well!
